Illumination Styles

All Fireballs can be used with any illumination style and can easily swap between them.

Firewood

Gather around your mesmerizing campfire with your loved ones. Feel the warmth, listen to the crackle of the wood, toast some marshmallows. A fireball with wood flames is an updated artistic take on this beloved human ritual that is as old as time.

Building a fire inside a fireball is simple! You load some firewood and kindling or rolled up cardboard into the Fireball through the hole in the top. You can fill it to the top or just add some depending on how big a fire you want. You will light the fire with a long BBQ lighter through any hole in the design. The fire will draw oxygen through the holes in the design, essentially ā€œfanningā€ the flames and creating a chimney effect. This means that a fire inside your Fireball usually burns hot with much less maintenance and effort than a traditional campfire. If your pieces of wood are large or somewhat damp adding a bit or lighter fluid may be helpful for getting it started.

There is a hole in the bottom of your Fireball where a metal screen rests. This screen holds the firewood but allows ashes to fall down below into the metal base (a recycled car rim). Your base can hold many fires worth of ashes. To empty the base simply lift the FIreball off of the base and empty the ashes. See pictures below of holes in top and bottom.

Propane & Natural Gas

Illuminating with Propane or Natural Gas is a great choice if you want the look and feel of fire but like to turn it on and off in an instant. No firewood storage needed, no ashes to clean. When installed correctly can safely be used on deck or patio.

Flames can be set to burn high or low. Propane and Natural Gas flames tend to look beautiful although they tend to be harder to photograph as they burn a little brighter than wood and glare in the photos.

To use Propane or Natural Gas with your Fireball you can order a custom fit base from us that holds a Propane or Natural Gas burner. Price varies depending on size and style of burner. Inquire for details. You will get an option of choosing Lava Rocks or different colored fireglass. The fireglass and lava rocks conceal and protect the burner while distributing the flames. In the image gallery for this section you can see pictures of gas burning flames with a custom blue/ green mix of fireglass or lava rocks.
